WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT? The Chair Pad Sling is designed with no leg sections, like a Hammock Sling, saving both the carer and patient the effort and stress of fitting a split-leg sling. Lifts in a sitting or semi-reclined position. Internal layer of ventilated foam for pressure care. Discreet design may be more dignifying for patients. It may be possible to leave the Sling underneath a patient when in bed if they do not move a lot. May be used by some patients to transfer themselves in and out of bed using a ceiling hoist. Can be used to pick up a patient from the floor. This Sling is not suitable for people who need to be taken to a commode or toilet. BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Lifting from a Bed With the patient lying in the middle of a bed, log roll them to place the Chair Pad Sling under them. The patient should end up laying in the middle of the Sling. The small pieces of black tape at the top and bottom of the Sling indicate the middle, to help with positioning. The top edge of the Sling should be near the patient’s shoulders or head, depending on their height. Once the Sling is in place, attach the shoulder and thigh webbing to the hoist hooks. Lowering into a Wheelchair A carer should use the grey soft padded Pull Back Handles sewn to the sides to pull the patient’s bottom to the back of the seat as they are being lowered into the chair. The bottom edge of the Chair Pad Sling should end up near the front of the seat. Fold the top of the Sling over the back of the wheelchair. Attach the Pull Back Handles and shoulder webbing to the press studs on the back of the Sling so it is not hanging down and does not get tangled in the wheels. Tuck the thigh webbing in next to the patient’s thighs. WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT MADE FROM? Fabric, foam, webbing, plastic buckles.
